A little visitor...

Sweet Ella Kate, her mommy and her daddy came to visit! We loved seeing them. We're sorry Lily shared her virus! At least none of you got Lyla's stomach bug!

My girls love each other very much! It's so sweet to see how they interact! We are starting to hear, "She hit me!" and "NO!" But, overall they love each other!

Back to school...

Last Friday (August 17th) Lyla and I headed back to school! We packed our lunches, grabbed our "travel" breakfast, coffee and milk and headed south on 183A. Tomorrow we embark on our first full week back at school. This week will be full of anxiety over classroom lists, stress over lesson plans and what ifs. Hopefully this week will also be full of professional learning, fresh ideas and inspiration for the school year! For Lyla this will be her last year in TWC. (Mommy and Daddy + happy dance = no more paying for childcare) I took pictures of Lyla last friday on her first day of Pre-K! She was so excited to see her friends and teachers. When I went to check on her around 1:45pm she looked at me and said, "I don't want to go yet!" Good thing we weren't leaving until 3:30pm. {pictures coming soon}

Lily's new school...

Today Lily started pre-school!! She's in the 12-18 month classroom at a local pre-school!! It's super close to our house and their hours accomodate our schedule! She even has two friends in her class! This morning when I dropped her off I was super nervous! As soon as she saw her best friend, Olivia, she wiggled herself until I put her down. She immediatly started saying, "Hi-ai" to all of the friends including our neighbor's little guy, Scott! She also found a fun ball to carry around while I talked to her teachers and the director. Her teacher got her things all situated in her cubby and her diapers and wipes got put away. She was walking around inspecting the classroom. The set up is really neat. The classrooms are divided by a wall but not completely closed off from one another. She kept trying to go explore. There are only 5 other kids in her class. Next week Olivia will move up to another class but Lily and Scott will be in the same class for a while. Lily is going to pre-school on Mondays and Fridays this year. She will be with her Nana Tuesday through Thursday. When I picked her up her teacher said she had tears a couple of times during day. :( break momma's heart! But I knew that transition times would be hard for her in a new environment. She didn't eat very much at lunch and didn't drink any milk. I picked her up right after nap was over. She was so excited to see me! When I tried to put her down to take her picture by her cubby she started to wail! That was the way her whole evening went! She wouldn't let me out of her sight!! I know pre-school will take some getting used to for all of us but I'm so thankful for the recomendation from frineds. I'm thankful that I know and have worked with the director of the pre-school. I'm thankful that she has such sweet, kind teachers for her first experience away from me and Nana. I'm excited to see what Lily learns and how much she will enjoy interacting with other kiddos her age!

Beach 2012

I posted last week from the beach! Now we are home and i've started going through the 400+ pictures I took! My favorite thing about the beach is making memories with my girls. I love to see their little toes in the sand, the first time they venture into the salt water and of course, sand castle building! I have so many pictures so this will be the first of a couple of posts! The second evening we were there we got all dressed up and headed to the beach at sunset! The best time for pictures!! Beach trip 2012

This weekend we are at the beach! We chose a location right outside of Corpus Christi on North Padre Island. The beach is beautiful and our condos are super affordable. Our good friends the Naranjos came too! We are having a great time together!
