Snap, Crackle, Pop!

This morning Lyla had her first, as far as I know, experience with cold cereal and milk. I gave her a small bowl of rice crispies and she loved them! She scooped them up with her spoon and loved drinking the milk with her spoon too! She was cranky that I was taking pictures of her eating her breakfast!

TJ and I celebrated our 4th anniversary on the 25th. We enjoyed a child-free dinner out and a stroll through The Domain. It was fun to go out to a nice restaurant and be adults!

We also started our music class on Thursday but I forgot to take pictures because we were having so much fun! Pictures next week!

Snip, Snip, Snip!

Lyla got a "Dede" haircut today. I decided that she needed a summer cut because her hair was getting so long. She fights me when I put it in pig tails and it's too fine to put in a pony tail. Daddy was not so sure that his little girl needed to any of her locks cut off. He likes her hair long. We agreed that this would be a good idea for the hot months to come. Dede cut off 2 1/2 inches!! Needless to say I saved some long chunks for her scrapbook. She looks like such a big girl with her cute, short hair.

Hook 'em

Lyla is ready to help her Daddy cheer his team on!

Happy Father's Day!

Yesterday we celebrate our dad's. TJ woke up early to get the grill ready to smoke a briscuit. It was fabulous! Way to go grillmaster! We had our families over to enjoy the day with us. TJ's parents and sister came. Alex, his brother, arrived later in the afternoon. My dad came over to spend the last couple of hours as a "bachelor" with us before my mom arrived in the mid afternoon. She was returning from her Kansas/Oklahoma trip. We ate dinner and enjoyed watching the dad's open their gifts.

Brownies!

On one of the last days of school we decided to give Lyla a little dessert. She loved her brownie. Here are a few pictures of her "cheesing" the camera with her brownie smile!

Summertime...

Today was the first official day of summer for my sweet little stinky and I. We had a great day! We walked to the swimming pool and splashed around. Lyla loves jumping off the side! We went home and had some lunch and Lyla took a nap while I mowed 1/2 of the lawn...mower wouldn't start for me after a quick Crystal Light break. After Lyla woke up we decided to take a car trip. Initially, we were headed to get gas in the car then to a great little place called Jungle Java. I've never been there but I've heard it has a great toddler playground...possibly indoors. We got sidetracked because we were so close to Nana and Papa's house. So we stopped in on them instead. We came home to meet TJ and have Chicken and Waffles for dinner. I finished mowing the lawn, pruned the flowers while Lyla played with TJ and her "bay-bay". Apparently baby was sad about something. Lyla kept trying to console her and was saying, "pacie, bay-bay". Maybe she was feeling remorseful for basically drowning that baby in her splash pool! Who knows! It was great to be at home with my family!

The pictures above are from Memorial Day weekend. Ms. Kristin set Nolan's new pool and we went over for a short swim!
