Memorial Day weekend...

Last weekend was a fast-paced long weekend! We all had 3 days off! Woowee! We enjoyed eating out and grilling. We even had a house guest, with four legs! It was warm enough for Lyla to get in her little pool and play in the water! She loved it! Lyla also got a new chair to sit outside in. Daddy choose a Dora chair for Lyla over the Longhorn chair!! Stay tuned for more pictures from May.

First Annual "Cove" Crawfish Boil...

This past weekend our neighbors bought some crawfish and we had ourselves a little Crawfish Boil in the "Cove". It was fun to see how much goes into cooking crawfish and the "fix-ins". Here are a ton of pictures from our eat-fest! TJ loved the little "mud-bugs". I, on the other hand, could not get over the fact that their dead bodies were laying on the table. Lyla slept through the whole thing. She woke up when it was time for dessert. There are also pictures of our newest neighbor, Jacob Daniel, who belongs to Dan and Casey! Congrats on baby Jake you guys!

Mother's Day

Last weekend we celebrated Mother's Day with my family. My brother and sister-in-law came into town for a quick visit. Poor, Papa has been feeling icky for like the last 6 weeks so we kind of laid low and hung out around home. We went to Chuy's for dinner on Saturday and then had brunch at Nana and Papa's before we headed to New Braunfel's. We said good-bye to Brandon and Lyndsey and hit the road. Lyla took a nap on the way to NB and woke up with yucky eyes! Oh, no...you guessed it....pink eye! TJ took a half day with her on Monday, felt like her eyes were better and cancelled her Doctor's appointment. So, sure enough she woke up from her afternoon nap with yucky eyes again. I took a half day on Tuesday and took her to the doctor. We got her started on antibiotic eye drops as soon as Daddy started to feel like poopoo. The next day Mommy started to feel bad too! What a week! We've all had some type of sickness/virus this week and hopefully are on the road to recovery! I'm posting some pictures from our Mother's Day celebration!

I'm doing my research mommy...

Lyla is always cracking us up. Today I sat the computer on the table to look up something on the internet. I walked away to get a piece of paper and here's what I came back to....

Cinco de Mayo...

Lyla Jane is 20 months old! I guess this is the time when you stop counting months of age and start counting years! My little girl is getting so big right in front of my eyes! She does so many "big girl" things. She loves to sit on the potty...not productively yet! She still repeats everything but is now talking in short phrases. On the way home today she had a little fight with herself and kept saying, "No, stop it!" She is such a blessing to TJ and I and we enjoy every little milestone that parenthood brings!

I feel pretty, oh so pretty....

We've had a fun milestone! Lyla's first pedicure...a la Mommy! I bought a bottle of quick dry "pink shock" nail polish! I painted her tootsie's when she was sitting in her swing in our back yard. Daddy took some pictures of this momentous occasion!

I'm also including pictures of Lyla checkin' out the "per". She is obsessed with the sweeper (vacuum). She wants to see it and touch it and wow, if we turn it on you better watch out! She knows where the vacuum "sleeps" and she loves to check on it at our house and at Nana's house. What a funny little girl!

Thanks to all of you who voted on our picture. We won "Best Weather Snapshot" from KVUE for the month of April. For those of you who may not have heard I submitted the picture at the top of my blog (Lyla in the bluebonnets). Yeah, now Mommy can go shopping.

Amen...

Last night as we were celebrating TJ's birthday Lyla took my mom's hand, bowed her said, mumbled a little something and then looked up and said, "Amen!" It was the cutest thing!! She kept "praying" throughout our family dining experience. We grabbed the camera and recorded her "prayers". Enjoy!
